The 0°C/-10°C Oblique Cut is great for most standard winter conditions—normally the most common during the winter season. Press harder when the surface conditions are warmer within this range.
How to use: Push the riller in one direction on one side of the ski (front to back), and in the opposite direction on the other side (back to front), with the plastic guide riding against the steel edge. Maintain constant pressure—do not lift the tool during passes. Press harder for deeper structure in warm/wet conditions; use lighter pressure in cold conditions. Finish by polishing with a fine nylon brush (recommended by roto).
In higher-speed events, use a warmer (coarser) rilling tool than usual.
Important: For cold conditions (-5°C and below), start from a fine stone grind. A coarse machine grind will compromise cold-snow glide regardless of hand structure.
Care: The structure roller is precision-machined stainless steel—handle with care to protect the fine-groove pattern from damage. After use, clean the roller of paraffin residue with wax remover and a Red Creek ultrafine steel hand brush. Store in a dry place.
Hand structure will come out of your ski bases after ironing a new layer of wax. Structure is vital in a post-fluoro waxing world.
